A LITTLE ABOUT ME
What my resume doesn't say
An inquisitive Detroit native, I found myself at the University of Kentucky after setting my mind to seeing a little more of the world. After neglecting to play to my academic strengths during freshman year, I reverted back to my high school experience as the yearbook Editor-in-Chief and changed my major to Integrated Strategic Communications. This degree allows me to understand the modern industries of marketing, public relations and advertising as separate yet cohesive units of communication.
When time allows, I enjoy watching nearly all sports, exploring my hometown of Detroit, engaging in meaningful philanthropy, and staying active through exercise.

WORK
Portfolio of My Original Work

Press Release
Professional-Grade Paper for a Specialized Public Relations Writing Class
I have always worked better under pressure and this major-specific class helped me fine tune my ability to write on a deadline. I brainstormed, researched, conducted interviews and wrote this paper in four short days while keeping the other, unaffiliated parts of my life moving.
Because of this class, I now feel confident identifying a worthy news piece for an organization and releasing a high-quality article to the media.

Market Research
Full Group Project Performed for Research Methods Class
My favorite part of this project for my research class was undoubtedly analyzing data collected in our primary research. After focusing on the creation, collection and analysis of the survey, I discovered my passion for content strategy. The translation of raw numbers into a poetic narrative for campaigns fascinates me and inspires my passion for integrated communication. Ideally, I would love to find a position where I can expand my knowledge on the relationship of data.
My roles in this project were coordinating survey distribution and evaluation, collaborating with teammates on the cover letter and overall research findings, leading my team on the positioning statement and campaign recommendation and proofreading/formatting the entire 50 page project.

Social Media Toolkit
Giving Tuesday Guidelines for Entire University and Individual Colleges
Most of my internship with the Office of Annual Giving at the University of Kentucky culminated in the creation of a social media toolkit for the national event, Giving Tuesday. This is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving where large and small non-profits harness the nation's holiday spirit and make a massive fundraising push. In the past, the office had made impersonal efforts in attempt to appeal to all demographics on all social media platforms. After researching the demographics of each platform, I decided to aim at parents and older alumni on Facebook, young alumni on Twitter and current college students on Instagram. The campaign ended up exceeding the goal of raising $25,000.
My roles in this project were composing all social media tweets, developing an angle of the campaign, updating general information, coordinating the photo shoot of students, proofreading the final copy of the document and posting on Giving Tuesday for the Office of Annual Giving's social media pages.
